Dear Secretary’s

Just a quick note regarding referee’s....Please remember the league rule that when appointed the referee must be informed 3 days before the fixture. If your match is p-p for whatever reason then please contact the referee and the referee’ secretary alongside the results secretary.

When a referee has not been appointed then please note that we will be trying to find a referee for you and you could receive one as late as the day of the match, therefore if a referee is not appointed 3 days before game then you are free to try and find a referee, should you manage to find one then you MUST inform the referee secretary to confirm this is ok and also to inform the league of the referee’s name. Once this is confirmed then we will not continue to try and find a referee for you and will appoint referee’s that become available to other fixture’s this in turn will stop 2 referee’s turning up to referee the same fixture whilst there are other fixtures without a referee. Should no contact be made and a referee is appointed even if it is on the day then the referee who is appointed by the league MUST be used.

County Cup updated 23/3/09

5 teams left in the various County competitions as the semi final stage is reached

Saturday's

Horley Town travel to AFC Grinstead on the 4th April for a place in the Junior Cup final whilst in the lower junior South Godstone Res entertain Dormansland Rockets on the 28th and Woodcote OB will be looking to make it an all Redhill final when they entertain LM United

Sunday's

Mid Day travel to Barnes Albion on the 29th as they look to book a place in the final against Stoughton Villa who overcame Wandle Rovers in their semi final

Redhill have no teams left in the intermediate Cup but in the  Junior Cup Lower Kingswood travel to Chessington Park Rovers hoping to book a place in the final against Tolworth who overcame South Park 3-0 in their semi final.

Good Luck to all Redhill teams

Referee's get county honours.

Congratulations to all the Redhill league referee's who have been given County Cup and semi final appointments the league has been well represented. Full details to follow.

CLUB EMAIL ADDRESSES

Could all clubs who have not supplied an email address please find someone within the club who has an email address that is accessed regularly and pass on the details to nick-clark@sky.com This address will be shown on the teams page and they will also receive  referee appointments via email

We need email addresses for the following clubs

Saturday League: Alpine Lane, Bletchingley Res, Kenley, Smallfield and Res and Wallington New Forresters.

Reconstruction idea

Reduce each division to a maximum of 10. This will mean 18 league fixtures per team compared to the current 22. Should any division fall below 8 teams like the 5th division this season then all teams will play each other 3 times which will still mean that teams play a maximum of 21 matches.

Then with the League cup competitions I would axe the current format and have a League cup involving all the teams in the League. I would give the top 2 divisions (Just the top division on Sundays) a bye to the second round with the remaining teams competing for a place in round 2. Those teams knocked out in the first round will then be put into a plate competition.  All teams are entered so there is a chance that 2 teams from the same club could be drawn against each other therefore I would put a player rule in that once a player has played for any team in the competition that he can then only play for that exact team again in the competition for that season. IE if a player plays for Reigate Priory “B” in the first round then he can only play again in the League cup for Reigate Priory “B”.

So each team then has a decent chance each season of making a cup final I would introduce Divisional Cups.

This would mean that every team will be entered into a minimum of 3 different cup competitions and those knocked out in the 1st round of the League Cup would have 4 cup competitions as well as the League to play for. Under the current format teams like Tudor Ath Res and Mid Day Sun Res are only entered into the Surrey county cup so there chances of reaching a cup final are slim....

So For example Brockham FC would be entered into the League Cup, the Premier Division Cup and the County Cup alongside the Premier Division. Whilst Reigate Priory “B” would play in Division 5 and would enter the county cup alongside the Division 5 Cup and they would also enter the League Cup if they were to lose their first round match they would then be entered into the League Plate

14th February 2009

10 clubs still flying the flag in the county cups

The Saturday Lower Junior Cup see's the league have 2 representatives in the 1/4 finals and should they both progress the will avoid each other in the semi finals. Woodcote host East Court while South Godstone are at home to Merton Rangers. The Sunday Junior Cup see's the league with 5 teams looking for a place in the 1/4 finals with the gaurantee of at least one team as Caterham OB host Horley Town "A". Merstham Newton (V Fulham Deaf) and RH123 (V Maori) both have home ties whilst Charlwood travel to Weston Green.

Mid Day Sun are through to the semi finals of the Surrey Sunday Premier Cup after a 3-1 win at Dee's, Wandle Rovers play their 1/4 final this weekend against Golden Lion. Should Wandle win they will avoid Mid Day in the semis. Lower Kingswood will be looking to book their place in the 1/4 finals of the Junior Cup when they play Barnes as they try to make succesive County Cup finals.

Good luck to all the teams
